Assembly instructions for our side-hinged dog limb

Step 1: Mounting hooks for box closure fittings

  1. Before mounting the front plate to the bike, the two hooks for the box closure brackets must be mounted.​
  2. With a 4.5 or 5.0 mm drill, drill holes and mount the two hooks for the box closure brackets on the inside with the included 16 mm bolts, washers and nuts (see images 1A, 1B and 1C).
  3. Then mount the front plate as normal. (see pictures 1D, 1E and 1F). ​​

Step 2: Installing hinges

  1. The hinges must now be mounted on the right side (viewed from the front).
  2. First drill through the edge strip and the front plate with a 4.5 mm or 5.0 mm drill bit (see images 2A and 2B)​
  3. Then mount the two hinges with the included 20 mm bolts, washers and nuts (see image 2C)​
  4. Drill holes for mounting the other side of the hinges – again with a 4.5 mm or 5.0 mm drill bit. It is important to raise the flap slightly with a piece of cardboard or similar so that the flap does not “sag” after mounting. See image 2D. ​
  5. The hinges are mounted in the front plate with the supplied 16 mm bolts, washers and nuts. See image 2E.​

Step 3: Installation of box closing fittings

  1. Finally, the two box closure brackets are mounted. ​
  2. First, drill holes with a 4.5 mm or 5.0 mm drill bit while holding the bracket open as shown in picture 3A. This is important to ensure that the box closure bracket works well when the dog door is closed.​
  3. Then mount the box closure brackets with the included 16 mm bolts, washers and nuts – see picture 3B.​
